The Brief
Multiple compound projects with the same underlying brief: turn a bare, unlandscaped plot around a home into a usable, planted outdoor space — ground that had never been designed, only left over after construction.
The Approach
Each compound started with ground preparation — grading and clearing bare earth before any planting or hardscaping — since a landscape built on unprepared ground rarely holds up. Pergolas were framed and installed as structural anchors for several of the compounds, giving the planting something to grow around rather than leaving the outdoor space as open lawn. Hedging and pathway planting were used specifically to define edges and routes through the compound, turning open ground into a space with an actual sense of arrival and circulation.
The Outcome
Several bare compounds transformed into landscaped, planted outdoor spaces with defined pathways and pergola structures — genuine before-and-after ground-up transformations, not planting added to an already-finished garden.
