Space Planning

What It Covers

Space planning is how a space is organised before it's furnished or finished — the layout, circulation, and zoning that decides whether a room actually works, not just how it looks.

Who It's For

Anyone reworking a layout — an awkward room, an open-plan office, or a new build where the floor plan needs to be right before anything else is decided.

What's Included

  • Spatial layout planning for your space
  • Circulation and flow planning between rooms or zones
  • Furniture and fixture zoning within the layout
  • A layout foundation the rest of the design builds on

FAQ

Space planning comes first — it's the layout and circulation. Interior design adds the concept, materials, and finishes on top of that layout.

It's most useful where layout is a real question — an awkward space, an open-plan area, or a room being repurposed. A straightforward room may not need it.

It plans where furniture zones go and how the space flows. Specific furniture selection is part of Interior Design.
