The Brief
Custom TV units and feature walls, built rather than bought off the shelf — each brief called for a backlit joinery piece sized to its own room, not a standard unit that happens to fit.
The Approach
Several builds are shown here, from installation through to completion: the joinery carcass going in, the backlighting wired and concealed within the unit itself so no fittings are visible in the finished piece, and the surrounding feature wall — fluted timber, marble-effect panels, open bookshelf columns — finished around it. Getting the backlighting genuinely concealed — rather than visible as a strip along an edge — is the detail that takes the most care during installation.
The Outcome
Finished, custom-built TV units with fully concealed backlighting, built into their feature walls rather than sitting in front of them as a separate piece of furniture.
