About This Project
Kitchen artistic impressions exploring a two-tone cabinetry scheme with an island breakfast bar.
Services Provided
The Brief
A concept exploring whether a two-tone cabinetry scheme — a common request, but one that's easy to get wrong in proportion — would work for a kitchen built around an island breakfast bar rather than a galley layout.
The Approach
We modeled the two cabinet tones against each other at full scale across the run of upper and lower units, then tested the island itself as the point where both tones meet, since that's the piece most visible from the rest of the room. Multiple angles were rendered so the balance between the two tones could be checked from where someone would actually stand or sit at the bar, not just from the single flattering angle a mood board tends to show.
The Outcome
A resolved two-tone kitchen concept with the island working as the transition point between the two cabinet colours, confirmed across several viewing angles before any cabinetry was ordered.
